500+ Renewable Energy Innovators, Climate Leaders, & Government Officials to Convene
So. Burlington, VT – The 19th annual Renewable Energy Vermont Conference and Expo welcomes an impressive lineup of speakers for REV2019, themed REV It Up: Empowering Energy Transformation. REV2019, northern New England’s premier event exploring clean energy innovation and climate solutions convenes on Thursday, October 10th and Friday, October 11th at the DoubleTree Hotel and Conference Center in South Burlington, VT. The event hosts more than 500 attendees and features 25 expert panel sessions on renewable electricity, heating, and transportation, sharing the latest technologies, policy updates, finance tools, and community climate action and resilience leadership.
On Thursday, keynote speaker Jules Kortenhorst, CEO of Rocky Mountain Institute will share climate resilience and renewable leadership trends and futures. Since 1982, the Rocky Mountain Institute has advanced market-based solutions that transform global energy use to create a clean, prosperous and secure future. An independent, nonprofit think-and-do tank, RMI engages with businesses, communities and institutions to accelerate and scale replicable solutions that drive the cost-effective shift from fossil fuels to efficiency and renewables. Congressman Peter Welch offers remarks and updates on federal issues Thursday evening.
The conference also features extraordinary plenary panels. On Thursday morning, attendees will have the rare opportunity to engage directly with State energy commissioners and agency leaders including Marissa Paslick Gillett, Chair of the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority; Peter Olmstead Chief of Staff of the New York State Energy Research and Development Association (NYSERDA); and June E. Tierney, Commissioner of Vermont’s Department of Public Service. On Friday morning, attendees will hear from state legislative leaders from Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine regarding what climate and energy action is anticipated under capitol domes in 2020.
Outside of the regular conference sessions, REV2019 offers additional opportunities for professional development and networking. For the third year, REV will host the Power Circuit: Women in Energy Luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 11th. The networking luncheon sold out in prior years, so room space has been increased for the 2019 gathering. This year’s luncheon features the next CEO of Green Mountain Power, Mari McClure as inspiration speaker.
REV again partnered with Solar Energy International to offer a NABCEP credit workforce development training for installers. The residential energy storage systems course runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 11th. Conference attendees are also eligible for CLE, AIA, and EEN continuing education credits.
