Facility Manager
Brattleboro Carbon Harvest seeks a qualified individual to manage a 20,000 square-foot greenhouse integrated with a landfill gas-to-energy CHP plant. The deadline for application is July 23, 2010.

General Job Description

Administrative, supervisory, and professional work managing and directing the Brattleboro Carbon Harvest facility consisting of a 500 kW landfill gas-to-energy combined heat and power plant and a 20,000 sq. ft. hard-shell greenhouse. The greenhouse uses waste heat from the CHP plant for aquaculture and hydroponic vegetable production. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operation of all aspects of the facility, including staffing, maintenance, energy production, fish production and vegetable production within a specified budget.

Qualifications and Desired Experience

• Capacity to exercise considerable independent judgment in planning, organizing and evaluating employees' work
• Ability to work independently and to proactively manage systems and a growing staff with the mindset of owning the outcomes
• Deep desire to join a business showing practical solutions and leadership in sustainable design in renewable energ, and local food and fuel development
• Comfortable working under the administrative direction of the Brattleboro Carbon Harvest president or their designee
• Skill set to supervise the equivalent of up to 8 employees including part-time energy plant operator and greenhouse staff
