I) Southern Loop Distributed Energy Resource Solutions
Vermont’s electrical transmission and distribution system in southern Vermont (the “southern loop“) is under increasing pressure from development in the area. Central Vermont Public Service (CVPS) and the transmission company (VELCO) are looking for distributed energy solutions that will help to strengthen the southern loop.

II) DG Case Studies
Real-world case study presentations from companies that have implemented distributed generation solutions. Presentations from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters on their propane based combined heat and power system, Omega Optical’s CHP diesel based system, and Zilkha Energy’s biomass CHP system at New England Wood Pellets’ facility.

Communities and towns have tremendous opportunities if they work together on energy projects. Greg Pahl will discuss community supported energy projects, NORESCO will present on their work as an energy service company and Concord Steam will present on their successful CHP biomass project in downtown Concord, NH

III) Permitting
The role of state government in the development of distributed Generation can not be understated. We will also hear about the State’s current incentive programs for distributed generation.
