The choice to repower Vermont with local renewable energy resources or commit to an additional 20 years of Vermont Yankee will determine the legacy we leave future Vermonters. Local resources and the power Vermont purchases from regional hydroelectric facilities can meet all of our traditional electricity needs, power100% of our transportation sector and still produce excess electricity. Vermont Yankee should be closed in 2012, and we should invest in an energy future that will protect our environment and promote a strong locally based economy.

Renewable Energy Vermont (REV) is hiring for the position of Executive Director (ED). Founded in 2000, REV has grown to include 300 business and professional members and supporters. With ever-growing interest in renewable energy and related incentives, this is a very exciting time for REV. Our ED will successfully manage multiple priorities, professionally represent the organization, supervise staff and volunteers, and manage daily internal and external operations. This position reports to the REV Board.

Renewable Energy Vermont (REV) honored Representative Joseph Krawczyk (RBennington) today at its Eighth Annual Conference and Expo. Rep. Krawczyk is the recipient of the Renewable Energy Champion Award, annually bestowed to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing renewable energy initiatives to better Vermont’s overall energy, environmental, and economic well-being. REV also honored Green Mountain Power for demonstrating leadership in the advancement of solar power, and Tim Maker for his long-term commitment to the use of biomass energy.
